A little more courage…
Sectoral institutions and organizations must fight to ensure that agriculture receives a share of the resources that have been flowing to a handful of large contractors, bankers, and patrimonial bureaucracy for the past 20 years. The growth of the sector's share of the economic pie depends, in part, on this.
The CHP's "Agricultural Development Summit" was held at the Yenikapı Performance Center between September 30th and October 1st and 2nd. 160 CHP-affiliated municipalities, 300 cooperatives, and producers attended the summit. The CHP outlined its agricultural policies for the period 2024-2028. In summary, CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor İmamoğlu emphasized in their speeches that they would change the current order in favor of the people, producers, hard work, and workers. It's clear that change in agriculture is essential. Because, as agriculture is on the verge of collapse, keeping this issue on the agenda should be the responsibility of everyone involved in agriculture. At least, even if they're not currently in power, there are interlocutors who are open to communication and ready to consider ideas and suggestions on the subject. The plant and landscape sector must make its voice heard more in this environment where agriculture is constantly on the agenda. By maintaining forward-looking communication on behalf of the sector and the profession, it must demonstrate a little more courage for effective lobbying. Sector institutions and organizations must fight for a share of the resources that have been going to a handful of large contractors, bankers, and patrimonial bureaucracy for 20 years to be allocated to agriculture. The growth of the sector's share of the economic pie depends, in part, on this.
