In memory of the 100th anniversary of the Great Victory…

The book "The Little Witness of the Great Offensive", written by director, screenwriter, producer, actor and author Turgut Yasalar in memory of the 100th anniversary of the Great Victory, will definitely attract your attention.

Between 1975 and 1985, Turgut Yasalar worked as a translator, reporter, and editor at Günaydın, Politika, Milliyet, Dünya newspapers, and the İSTA News Agency. In the latter half of the 1980s, he worked as a writer and manager in the advertising industry, producing commercials and promotional films. Yasalar, founder of the Film Critics Association, won the "Best Screenplay" award at the Antalya Film Festival for his screenplay for the 1998 film "Leoparın Tail" (Leoparın Tail). He went on to direct numerous films and television series, including "Çılgın Bediş."

Yasalar, who is also the author of the books I Am a Genius But I Haven’t Made My First Film Yet, I Am a Genius But I Haven’t Written My First Screenplay Yet, There’s a Convenient Place to Get Off, The Kitchen Witch Learns to Cook, The Kitchen Witch on Summer Vacation, Talking Dog Koko 1 – The Zultanite Stone Adventure, and Barış is Making Movies, has most recently written the book “Ali Şamil’s Little Witness to the Great Offensive”, a special book for the 100th Anniversary of the Great Offensive War.

Yasalar tells the story of Ali Şamil, who witnessed significant events between 1916 and 1922. Ali Şamil's life was surrounded by astonishing events, from Enver Pasha to his friendship with Sultan Vahdettin's son-in-law İsmail Hakkı Bey, to his meeting with Mustafa Kemal Pasha. Turgut Yasalar sheds light on history with this book. Those exciting days are brought to life again through the memories of Ali Şamil, who witnessed the collapse of the Ottoman Empire from the palace and the birth of Türkiye from the front lines.
