Mersin Traffic Park Project

The park will include a bicycle path, median strips, sidewalk arrangements (islands), traffic information signs, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings and road markings.

For example, when we consider a city like Mersin, some may think the scale is too small to provide traffic education to children. Therefore, these projects may seem "for show" and unimportant. However, as a country that has failed in education, it's important to remember that some prototypes can serve as important examples.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality has redesigned a regional park northwest of the Marina Junction on Adnan Menderes Boulevard in the Yenişehir district, which had lost its functionality. The project covers a total of 12,000 square meters, and 850 square meters have been designated as a traffic amusement park where children can enjoy driving battery-powered cars. The park will include a bicycle path, median strips, sidewalk improvements (islands), traffic information signs, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and road markings. The remaining area of the park is designated for recreational purposes. It is particularly important to provide children with the opportunity to begin traffic education at an early age.
