Countdown has begun for the “Urban Parks and Landscape Symposium”
The countdown has begun for the "World Urban Parks Symposium," themed "Urban Parks and Landscape," to be held at the 2023 Landscape Istanbul Fair. The first coordination meeting for the symposium was held on Wednesday, July 12, between Athena Fairs and World Urban Parks officials.

The meeting was attended by Mustafa Gültekin GÖKGÜL, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATHENA Fairs Inc., Andrew FURNESS, Managing Partner and Advisory Member of ATHENA Fairs Inc., Luis ROMAHN, President of World Urban Parks (CEO), Carl McClean, Keep Britain Tidy-International Development Manager, a member of WUP, Maarten H.M. Loeffen, Director of Royal Association Stadswerk The Netherlands-Managing Director, WUP Member, Richard MURRAY, and Vitoria DELGADO, General Coordinator of World Urban Parks Global Secretariat.

The meeting primarily focused on defining the symposium's objectives and outlines. A series of topical proposals of interest to national and international audiences were discussed.
Evaluations were conducted on the names of potential speakers for the symposium. The planning, launch, announcement, and mutual responsibilities of the symposium and the Istanbul Landscape Fair were discussed and evaluated. Furthermore, proposals for field trips to nurseries, parks, and green spaces in Istanbul and the surrounding area were discussed and evaluated in conjunction with the symposium. The Istanbul Landscape Fair has taken a challenging but worthy step in promoting our country and the sector with a major international symposium.
