The equitable maintenance of life in a healthy environment is of great concern to landscape architects. In this regard, the professional organization has stepped onto the right footing by integrating various steps in 2024. We wish them continued success.

The 60th World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) concluded successfully in Istanbul in September 2024, with the theme "Code Red for Earth." The World Landscape Architecture Organization called on humanity to take urgent action against the climate crisis. It invited policymakers, professionals, scientists, and individuals to chart a course for the world's future. It emphasized that every activity that could lead to climate and environmental disasters occurs in the landscape. This event also clarified the future direction of the landscape architecture profession and education.

The profession of the future… Why?

IThe climate crisis and the equitable maintenance of life are of particular concern to landscape architects. In fact, this is where the most significant distinction between landscape architecture and other professional disciplines emerges. This is why landscape architecture is called "the profession of the future." This is because the discipline and profession of landscape architecture possesses a holistic approach capable of implementing universal sustainability-related resolutions such as Agenda 2030, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the EU Green Deal, in response to the climate crisis accelerated by unbridled capitalism.
