Export is on the agenda…
SÜSBİR will continue to hold discussions with the ministry regarding issues that negatively affect exports.

SÜSBİR Board Chairman Savaş Akcan and Board Member Ahmet Korhan Çiçek visited Yunus Bayram, Deputy Director General of Food Control at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and Fatih Kaya, Head of the Border Control Department of Plants and Plant Products, to discuss the problems their members are experiencing in exports. They expressed the difficulties SÜSBİR members have recently encountered with samples taken for analysis during exports, particularly from Azerbaijan. In bilateral talks with Azerbaijan, requests and suggestions were made regarding shortening and speeding up analysis times and easing the quarantine requirements Azerbaijan imposes if no diseases or pests are detected on products shipped from Türkiye. During the meeting, the hardships experienced by exporting companies due to the long wait for the results of analyses conducted during the issuance of phytosanitary certificates were also discussed. In a statement, SÜSBİR emphasized that discussions with the ministry regarding the problems negatively impacting ornamental plant exports will continue.
